Welcome to my homepage, which is based on TikiWiki?. I am Lennart Karssen, born and (most of the time) raised in The Netherlands.
Until October 8th, 2008 I was a PhD student at the Atom Optics &amp Ultrafast Dynamics group of the Faculty of Physics at Utrecht University. There, I worked on researching the effects of ultrashort laser pulses on a sample of cold atoms, also known as a MOT or MagnetoOpticalTrap. Wiki pages related to my job can be found at the WorkWiki.

At the moment I work as a post-doc in the Genetic Epidemiology group of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.

My hobbies include reading, listening to MyMusic and travelling. However, my biggest hobby (in terms of money and time spent) is working with Computers. I'm interested in both hardware and software. Every now and then I enjoy drinking a glass of FineWhiskey.

The British Guardian features a weekly column on bad science. Check it out at http://www.badscience.net/.
